    Atmel’s multi-string LED driver family offers efficiency optimizer (EO) technology, flexible dimming options, scalability across a wide range of power levels, user programmability, and promises a lower BOM. Allegedly, EO technology minimizes power consumption to the lowest practical level and allows designers to use any DC-to-DC or AC-to-DC converter topology with isolated or non-isolated implementation. The drivers are available in three categories: with external MOSFET current sinks, internal MOSFET current sinks, and with an integrated power controller.
