Promoting a rich and long lasting mobile entertainment experience, the 532-MHz i.MX31 and i.MX31L multimedia processors team an ARM11 platform with the company's Smart Speed technology to maximize effective cycles per instruction (eCPI) performance. Smart Speed technology allows the processors to achieve parallelism, making them operate at the equivalent performance level of a 3-GHz processor while minimizing power consumption. The processors also employ a proprietary Independent Platform Security Architecture that combines a number of hardware and software security functions. Other features include power management, digital rights management, image processing technology, a vector floating point co-processor, USB on-the-go port, and L2 cache.
