Integrating three necessary functions for reception of digital terrestrial television (DTTV) on a single chip, the DIB7770 packs an embedded RF Tuner combined with a demodulator, both of which are linked to a USB 2.0 bridge. The device is said to enable the design of very small and cost-effective USB 2.0 TV accessories. Going beyond the main functions, the device also includes the SAW filters and other discrete components. It surpasses the Nordig2 and MBRAI specifications with a power consumption of less than 500 mW, which is adequate for digital terrestrial reception PCs, ultra-mobile PCs and portable media players. Also available are the company's second-generation USB 2.0 evaluation platforms for the reception of hybrid (analog and digital) television. DIBCOM, Ladera Ranch, CA. (949) 365-0051.
