Force Sensor Is Precise And Reliable

Nov. 1, 1998

A compact, commercial-grade package contains the FSL Series of low-profile force sensors. The devices provide precise, reliable sensing through use of a stainless-steel ball plunger that offers excellent mechanical stability. The devices are adaptable to a variety of applications that range from medical equipment to robotics to other industrial uses. The sensors use a piezoresistive, micro-machined silicon sensing element. Their low-power, unamplified, non-compensated Wheatstone bridge design provides inherently stable millivolt outputs over their 500-gram force range. The sensors are resistant to side-load damage and offer nine-times over-force capability.
