International Rectifier (IR) is opening a new customer-service center in Shenzhen, a bustling international trade zone in China’s Guangdong province. This new center expands the company’s support for customers in Asia as IR currently maintains customer service centers in Singapore and Shanghai.

“We provide world-class service levels by listening to our customers’ needs, understanding their businesses and then helping them succeed with IR’s best-in-class power management technology,” said Paul Rolls, global vice president of services and new business development. “The new center will allow us to deploy supply chain solutions, value-added e-tools and benchmark services to provide superior service to the increasingly sophisticated markets in China,” he added.

China’s semiconductor market ranks as the world’s third largest, exceeding US$20 billion in sales. It also is one of the fastest-growing markets for power management technology, with Shenzhen at the heart of this booming market.

“International Rectifier is committed to delivering service excellence to our global and local customer base enabling us to gain preferred supplier status, increase our contribution to the long-term success of our customers and contribute to a healthier environment for everyone. Our service center will provide expertise in both our demand creation and demand fulfillment activities with our dedicated, highly skilled local team of technical specialists,” said Rolls.

China's electricity supply infrastructure is struggling to keep up with demand following two decades of tremendous economic growth. IR believes that the adoption of energy-efficient products can help tackle the problem of power shortages in China. In its drive to contribute to China’s energy-efficiency calling, IR offers a broad range of power management solutions tailored to industrial and appliance applications.

IR’s Shenzhen Customer Service Center, which opened for business on May 17, 2005, is located in the Electronics Science and Technology Building.
