Power Companies Appoint New Executives

Two prominent power supply merchants, C&D Technologies and Emerson, have announced the appointment of new personnel to head divisions within their companies.

Two prominent power supply merchants, C&D Technologies and Emerson, have announced the appointment of new personnel to head divisions within their companies.

C&D Technologies has announced that William Bachrach , PhD., has joined C&D as vice president and general manager of the company’s Power Electronics Division. Bachrach spent more than 10 years of his career at General Electric leading global business teams across a number of GE's industrial businesses, and was involved in the assessment and due diligence of strategic acquisitions for GE's financial business unit. He later led a global partnership between GE and Toshiba Corp. in Japan for GE's Energy Division. Bachrach left GE in 2000 to found InphoMatch, a company in the mobile messaging services industry.

Most recently, Bachrach was the general manager of products and manufacturing for a start-up company called WAY Systems, a provider of mobile point of sale solutions. Bachrach holds a BS in engineering from Purdue University, an MS and PhD in physics from Northwestern, and a master’s degree from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.

Meanwhile, Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson, has announced that Earle Weaver has been named president of Liebert North America. Weaver, a 20-year Emerson veteran, will report to Bob Bauer, president of Liebert Worldwide and group vice president, Emerson. Bauer held the position of Liebert North America president before assuming global responsibilities.

Weaver joins Liebert, a company that provides mission-critical power and cooling technologies, from Emerson’s White-Rodgers division, where he served as president. He also has served as president of Emerson’s Specialty Motors division and in strategic planning and investor relations roles at Emerson.
