Vicor has announced an E-Grade option for its line of second-generation dc-dc converter modules and VIPAC Arrays, with pricing approximately 15% below existing C-grade versions. Pricing for E-Grade modules is as low as $0.29/W in quantities of 1000.

These dc-dc converter modules use power processing, control and packaging technologies to provide high power density, flexibility and reliability. Efficiency ranges from 80% to 90%, depending on the output voltage. Targeted applications for these products include off-line systems with autoranging or PFC front-ends. Modules and VIPAC Arrays can be configured using Vicor’s VDAC and VCAD design tools.

These converters are available in four different input ranges and seven different output voltages in quarter-, half- or full-brick versions. Different baseplate and pin options also are supported.
