Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has entered into an agreement with Elliott Laboratories to coordinate services to EMC customers in the Silicon Valley area. Under the agreement, Elliott Laboratories will lead efforts to provide EMC testing services at their facilities located in Fremont and Sunnyvale, Calif.

“UL’s agreement with Elliott Laboratories will directly benefit our EMC and NEBS customers,” said Ralph Parker, vice president and general manager of UL’s West Coast Division. “Customers will be able to take advantage of Elliott’s multiple locations and test facilities, which include 10-meter and 5-meter chambers, as well as Open Area Test Sites. UL will continue to maintain our expert EMC staff to develop test programs, communicate requirements, obtain necessary RF certifications and manage multi-disciplined projects. We expect to be able to provide customers with access to EMC and NEBS service without interruption both during and after UL’s move to the company’s new facility at 455 East Trimble Rd. in San Jose.”

UL maintains full service EMC laboratories in combination at its safety testing facilities in Northbrook, Ill.; Research Triangle Park, NC; Melville, NY; and Ise, Japan. Additionally, UL’s Novi, Mich., EMC test lab is fully recognized by Ford, GM and DaimlerChrysler for testing EMC for automotive components.
