President Congratulates Globecom On 50th Anniversary

The 50th anniversary celebration of the IEEE Global Communications Conference got underway with congratulations from President George Bush citing Globecom for its international achievement in the "development and advancement of global communications."

The 50th anniversary celebration of the IEEE Global Communications Conference got underway with congratulations from President George Bush citing Globecom for its international achievement in the "development and advancement of global communications." The note to the IEEE Communications Society also praises the conference for promoting achievement and innovation in technology and engineering. IEEE Globecom 2007 will be held Nov. 26 through 30 at the Hilton Washington Hotel in Washington, D.C. More than 1000 technical presentations will explore the latest developments in voice, data, image, and multimedia communications. Featured speakers will include Ernie J. Carey, senior vice president of Network Services, AT&T Southwest AT&T Operations Inc.; Jeong Kim, president of Bell Labs at Alcatel-Lucent; Scott McGregor, CEO at Broadcom; and Mark A. Wegleitner, senior vice president, technology and chief technology officer at Verizon Communications, among others. Held in conjunction with Globecom will be the second annual IEEE Communications Industry Forum and Expo, which includes the Access ’07 Executive Business Forum, the Design & Designers Forum, and the Communications Expo.
