Texas Instruments is working with Microsoft Corp. to help consumers store information on Microsoft's newly launched HealthVault platform. TI will allow Microsoft to bundle software on its wireless products, enabling connected consumer health devices to operate easily with the HealthVault platform. Consumers will be able to search, store and connect their health information to better manage healthcare decisions. HealthVault acts as a repository for health-related data like medical histories, immunizations, and records from doctor and hospital visits. It can also store measurements from devices like heart rate monitors. "Combining TI's semiconductor technology and the Microsoft HealthVault platform can enable medical devices that equip consumers with their information when and where they need it to make healthcare decisions," Kent Novak, vice president of TI's medical business, said in a statement.
