Netronome First To Embrace QuickPath Technology

Sept. 20, 2007
Embarking as Intel’s first collaborator to use the QuickPath interconnect (QPI) technology, Netronome Systems intends to develop products for the system architecture that will be replacing Intel's front side bus topologies.

Embarking as Intel’s first collaborator to use the QuickPath interconnect (QPI) technology, Netronome Systems intends to develop products for the system architecture that will be replacing Intel's front side bus topologies. Netronome forecasts QPI as being a path to creating the industry’s highest-performance flow processing solutions for network and security applications and appliances. QPI technology creates a very high bandwidth, low latency, and cache-coherent fabric between one or more multi-core CPUs. It will be employed to connect microprocessors that host the applications and the Netronome network flow processing engines that serve as coprocessors to handle packet forwarding, packet pre-processing, deep packet inspection, and flow analysis and processing.
