High efficiency motors and transformers

Dec. 21, 2009
A new CD explains mechanical aspects of efficient motors and transformers.

"High Efficiency Motors and Transformers," a free CD from The Copper Development Association targets firms seeking to cut energy costs in industrial and commercial facilities. The CD includes information about the newest DoE regulations and the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. It explains how to possibly save thousands of dollars by selecting motors and transformers on the basis of energy efficiency instead of initial cost. The CD explains mechanical aspects of efficient motors and transformers, how they are made, and how they differ from standard equipment. It describes typical cases in which thousands of dollars in energy costs can be saved in a relatively short time by replacing old, inefficient motors or transformers with more efficient versions, or by specifying highly efficient units for new projects.
