Higher-Power, Short-Pulsed Laser Diodes Are Eye-Safe

The Series 2400 eye-safe laser diodes are 1550-nm short-pulsed devices that come as single emitters or in stacks that have been designed for higher power and efficiency. The single emitters are available in 75-µm to 150-µm junction lengths, with power levels of 6 W or 12 W. Individual emitters can be stacked in a mini-bar configuration to provide up to 48 W of output power. Five configurations are available: The 2410 (6 W) and 2424 (12 W) are single emitters. Three linear and standard arrays include the 2410-2S (12 W), the 2424-2S (24 W), and the 2424-4S (48 W). Several low-inductance packages are available, including 5.6MM, 9MM, TO5, and TO18. The diodes can also be fiber-coupled in 200-µm or 400-µm core fibers, depending on the configuration. Other wavelengths from 1400 nm to 1600 nm are available on request.
