Hybrid Current Driver Takes Logic Inputs

Dec. 1, 1998

A replacement for the discontinued National Semiconductor DH0006 is the firm's part number 51992, an integrated high-voltage, high-current driver that accepts DTL and TTL logic levels and drives loads of up to 400 mA at 28V. If additional gating is required, AND inputs are provided along with an expander connection. An external capacitor controls the rise and fall times of the output to decrease cold lamp surges, or, if long lines are being driven, to minimize electromagnetic interference. One side of the load is normally grounded to lessen the possibility of false turn-on due to shorts in the drive line. Only a single power supply is required for operation.
