Convenience Outlet Accommodates 20A

April 1, 2002

Designed with a snap-in configuration that offers insulation displacement connections (IDCs), a new 20A convenience outlet eliminates the need for special termination tooling. This outlet accepts standard 20A and 15A plugs and is suitable for use in surge protectors, power outlets, and a range of computer and peripheral applications. The IDCs accept solid-wire sizes from 12 to14 AWG. Current capacity is up to 20A with 12 AWG solid wire at 125 Vac/60 Hz and up to 15A with 14 AWG. The housing is molded of black nylon 6/6 with other colors available upon request. Contacts are constructed of unplated brass, and the outlet meets UL 498 and UL310.
