Fieldbus I/O System Is Compatible With DeviceNet

March 1, 1999

An advanced open architecture fieldbus I/O system supplied in modular or compact versions, Remote Interface COmmunication System (RICOS) adds DeviceNet to its list of protocols, such as ProfibusDP and Interbus-S through which it connects to remote devices. The RICOS line includes two product series. Compact Series is a simple, inexpensive method of getting discrete-wired devices onto the fieldbus, combining terminal connections and bus termination in one independent module. The Modular Series offers expandable I/O modules consisting of up to six analog or digital units connected to a single base; the internal base unit handles bus coupling electronics and diagnostics to permit only one address to represent a number of interconnected I/O modules.
