Tiny RF Coax Connector Mounts On PCMCIA Cards

Jan. 1, 1999

A push-on, locking RF coaxial connector is designed for mounting to the backside of PCMCIA cards such as Type II PC cards, wireless LAN cards and GPS cards. The POD3 coaxial connector has an outside diameter of 3.8 mm, which is a 50% reduction in the diameter and 75% reduction of the cross-sectional area compared to the firm's POD-1 connector. These connectors are 50 ohms for impedance matching. VSWR is 1.3 or less from dc to 3 GHz.
