Embedded Internet Software Offers Web, E-Mail Services

Sept. 1, 1999

The creation of embedded Web servers has been made easier with version 3.00 of the firm’s RomPager embedded Internet family of software. The additions include: RomPager Light, a powerful server for very low-end devices; RomWebClient, which retrieves objects from other Web servers; RomDNS, Domain Name Services for embedded devices; and RomPager SoftPages, which dynamically changes HTML source pages at runtime. The family of products brings Web and e-mail services to embedded systems. The toolkits allow virtually any device to communicate over the Internet. A device can serve pages, images, or applets; retrieve files from Web servers; and send or receive e-mail with attachments. The products can be used individually or integrated into a powerful embedded Web server.
