Switch Offers High Bit Count

Feb. 1, 2001

Expanding the FST portfolio of bus switches, the FST34170 17-bit to 34-bit multiplexer/demultiplexer switch provides simultaneous bus addressing by multiplexing/demultiplexing between two buses and performs switching of both 16 bits of data and a 1-bit strobe. Suited for servers using the SSTL data bus with DDR memory, the bus switch allows addressing of two DDR memory modules with one data line, thereby reducing the number of external parts.
The device features a 4W switch connection between two ports, with zero bounce in flow-through mode. Control inputs are compatible with TTL level circuits, and propagation delay between inputs and outputs is 0.25 ns. Available in a TSSOP package, price is $3.75 each/1,000.
