Designed for applications where the available magnetic field is extremely low and/or the space limitations are a major design factor, the GR150 magnetic reed switch functions as a non-contact position sensor. The switch is extremely small, just 3.7 mm long, and has a very narrow sensitivity range. With a magnetic sensitivity of 2 to 4 Ampere Turns (AT), typical operating time of 0.2 ms, and a typical release time of 0.1 ms, the reed switch is well-suited for very demanding applications such as hearing aids, pill cams, flip or slide phones, and laptop computers. The switch features PGM alloy contacts and has a power rating of 1 VA maximum. Maximum switching current is 0.05 A dc, and the maximum carry current rating is 0.5 A dc. The switch’s operating temperature range is -40°C to 125°C. STANDEX ELECTRONICS, Cincinnati, OH. (513) 871-3777.
