Surface Mount Inductors Target Power Conversion Applications

Feb. 1, 2001

A new series of surface-mount power inductors can be used in power conversion applications such as notebook computers, cell phones and pagers. The inductors have an inductance range of from 0.33 to 1,000 MHz and are available in shielded and unshielded versions. The IRMS current runs from 0.7A to 16A, depending on size. Specifications for selected models are as follows: shielded CSS136S has a range of 10 µH to 100 µH with DCR down to 40 milliohms and a maximum current of 3.9 ARMS; CSN082S has an inductance range of 10 to 1,000 µH with an IRMS of 2A to 0.05A; CSN136S (IRMS 8.6A to 0.56A) and CSN042C (IRMS 2.9A to 0.07A) both have an inductance of 1 to 1,000 µH. Pricing begins at $0.25 each depending on model.
