Power Toroid Comes In SMT Package

Sept. 1, 2001

Offered in a surface-mount (SMT) package, the PTHF-SM and PTKM-SM power toroids are available in inductance values ranging from 10 µH to 1,000 µH. Resistance values are as low as 0.01½ and current values are available up to 7.36A. Said to provide excellent shielding properties, the series is available in four package sizes: 0.7" x 0.67" x 0.4", 0.57" x 0.56" x 0.4", 0.44" x 0.44" x 0.4", and 0.34" x 0.34" x 0.3". The PTHF-SM series use a nickel-iron composition toroid core that allows high current levels to pass through without saturation effects. The PTKM-SM is constructed on the companyÕs Kool-Mu toroidal core, said to have low ac core-loss characteristics for switch-mode applications.
