Universal RF Sockets Accept Many TSSOPs

Nov. 1, 1999

The ability to accept all TSSOP 173 devices with from 14 to 28 leads is featured in the Model 3923 Multitest socket. The high-frequency-response RF socket offers a universal contact block for Multitest 9308B and 9320 handlers. Its contacts will last up to 500,000 plug-in/plug-out cycles, it's claimed. The socket's body is made of Torlon, a high-grade plastic, to withstand the elevated temperatures and high wear of automated testing. Other features include an integrated ground contact for grounding to the device-under-test's bottom ground paddle. Ground contact inductance is as low as 0.035 nH.
