Interpolators Deliver High Accuracy And Resolution

Dec. 1, 2000

Designed for use with the company's RG2 family of linear encoders, these interpolators provide a resolution of 50 nm from the company's standard 20-µm pitch scale. Two versions of the 50-nm interpolators are available. The RGE takes industry-standard 1 Vpp analog output signals and produces 50 nm digital quadrature signals, while the RGB254 converts the analog output from the RGH25 read-head to 50-nm quadrature. Compact castings shield the interfaces against RFI, and each device can be located inside a controller or close to a moving axis, depending on the needs of the application.
