Power Supply Software Supports Designs Up To 250W

May 1, 2001

The amount of time needed to design an optimized switching power supply is said to be significantly reduced with version 2.5 of PI Expert software. Users simply enter their power supply input requirements, output requirements, and optimization preferences and in fewer than five mouse clicks, the program determines the critical components needed for a working switch mode power supply.
Version 2.5 of the PC-based design program includes a variety of design enhancements, including support for the company's new TOPSwitch-GX product family, a monolithic high-voltage power conversion IC capable of delivering up to 250W. Other enhancements include dc input capability and an enhanced calculation engine for improved accuracy. The software is offered free of charge and can be downloaded from the company's web site.
