Users of Cadence's Encounter digital IC design platform will now be able to run key elements of the platform on AMD64-processor-based systems running 64-bit Linux. The move offers users higher capacity and speed required to implement complex systems-on-a-chip. The Cadence Encounter platform will have products ported to AMD Opteron in the first quarter of 2004. Coming soon: Cadence Incisive functional verification products and Virtuoso custom design products on the 64-bit platform. Details can be found at www.cadence.com.
