In the MAX1108/MAX1109 8-bit a/d converters, an internal track-and-hold, voltage reference, clock, serial interface and battery monitoring capability are combined with software configurable analog inputs that allow unipolar/bipolar and single-ended/differential operation. The MAX1108 operates from 2.7V to 3.6V and draws just 110 µA at 3V. The MAX1109 is specified from 4.5V to 5.5V and draws 130 µA. For either device, full-scale analog input range is determined either the internal voltage reference of 2.048V (MAX1108) or 4.096V (MAX1109) or by an externally applied reference.
