BNC Connector Decouples EMI On Coax Shield

Feb. 1, 1999

Designed specifically to decouple EMI on the coaxial shield through the capacitor-to-chassis ground without influencing signal terminations, this new BNC connector offers the same RF characteristics as non-filtered devices. It can also be utilized as a direct replacement for standard BNC connectors. The connectors offer a capacitance of 10,000 pF ±20%, a voltage rating of 500 vdc, and a current rating of 3A. They filter frequencies from 1 MHz to 3 GHz with both source and load impedances of 50 ohms. Applications include telecomm equipment, LANs, signal distribution systems, test and measurement, and EMI/RFI sensitive electronics.
