VXI-Based Systems Perform Functional Tests

Jan. 1, 1999

The HP E8751A and HP E8754A are the first two products in a planned series of VXI-based systems that provide foundations for functional test systems. The former provides the essential components needed for most functional-test applications, while the latter comes with more options, enabling test system developers to build complex functional test systems.Included in the HP E8751A are the HP E8401A VXI mainframe, the HP 82350A PCI IEEE-488 interface card, HP VEE 5.0 visual programming language and factory installation of HP VXI modules. The HP E8754A system includes the HP E8404A high-power VXI mainframe. Users of the HP E8754A must also purchase an HP E1406A command module or the HP E8491A IEEE-1394 (FireWire) PC link to the VXI bus. Both mainframes are 13-slot, C-size units that keep VXI modules cool while minimizing fan noise. The basic mainframe provides 550W of power, while the high-power model delivers 1 kW.
