Server Software Provides Data Acquisition For SCADA/HMI Apps

March 1, 1999

Support for an unlimited number of measurement instruments over any number of communications ports is made possible with ScanServer, a 32-bit server program that enables firm's measurement-and-control instruments to be used in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications. It helps impart to the instruments high-channel capacity, expandability, speed, accuracy, and low cost per channel. It supports SCADA/HMI applications through OLE for Process Control or virtually any DDE format. It also supports the instruments' temperature-and-voltage inputs and digital I/O. Designed specifically for applications that require a large number of channels, the software allows the measurement instruments to be attached to provide fast, accurate data collection. And users can assign channel parameters and poll rates directly from the server application.
