Convenient Probe Locates Radiation

Aug. 1, 1999

The SPEAR (Single Point Extended Area Radiation) detector is a complete probe comprised of a 5 x 5 x 5 mm CdZnTe detector crystal and low-noise hybrid preamplifier in a housing with dimensions of 0.5" in diameter x 3.5" long. The probe comes with a 6' long connecting cable. The SPEAR requires 12 vdc, ground and typical bias of 500V to 750V to operate and will interface to any standard spectroscopy or counting system.
