Fiber-Optic Connectors Withstand Immersion

Sept. 1, 1999

Engineered to withstand total immersion in liquids and to resist a wide array of corrosive chemicals and gases, Envirotight Fiber Optic Connectors have ferrules and alignment sleeves made of precision-machined zirconia with connector and adapter bodies fabricated from 316 stainless-steel and O-rings available in Viton or Tefzel. The connectors are sealed front and back to protect the fiber's functional integrity. They are also keyed and have a screw-type mating mechanism that ensures secure, repeatable connections.
