18-Bit Sigma-Delta ADCs Guarantee 0.0015% INL

Dec. 1, 1999

Guaranteed 16-bit performance (0.0015% INL) at 480 samples/s is offered by the MAX1401/MAX1403 18-bit a/d converters. Coarse measurements can be performed 10 times more quickly at conversion rates as high as 4800 samples/s while still maintaining 12-bit performance (0.024% INL). The converter’s high accuracy makes them suitable for applications requiring high dynamic range, such as industrial process control and pressure transducers. They operate from both +3V analog and +3V digital supplies. Power consumption is a low 1.5 mW; it drops to below 50 µW in shutdown mode.
