µP Family Cranks Out 350 MIPS/W

A new family of microprocessors based on the firm’s TX19 RISC core technology has been developed for use in 32-bit embedded applications, such as PDAs and digital still and video cameras. The TMPR1940 series of µPs offers an impressive 350 MIPS/watt of performance and can achieve 40 MHz operation with no wait states when operating from internal MROM and RAM. The devices can operate from a 1.8V to 3.6V supply and dissipate only 600 mW (max.). The series includes the TMPR1940CY with embedded ROM and the TMPR1940FD with embedded flash. And in addition to high-speed ROM and RAM access, the processors also feature a serial interface, 10-bit ADC, multiple 8- and 16-bit timers, and much more. The -CY µP is housed in 100-pin LQFPs.
