June 1, 2000

Announced as the industry's first electronic fiber-optic patch panel for Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet networks, the Model ACI-2046 gives network administrators the ability to remotely direct and redistribute connections between servers and peripherals as needed.
While supporting Gigabit Ethernet networking speeds, the panel manages direct termination and switching of fiber-optic cables, providing up to 16 I/O ports of fiber connectivity.Using the company's AutoSwitch software, the panel can automatically schedule, switch and re-configure Gigabit Ethernet connections.
Along with a LAN port, two RS-232 ports, and redundant power supplies and fans, the unit includes a menu-driven LCD. Available in eight- and 16-port versions, pricing is between $4995 and $6995.
