ESD Monitor Is Always On The Job

Nov. 1, 2000

Claiming to constantly guard against operator and workstation-induced static damage, the SE900 ESD grounding and monitoring system maintains all operators, work surfaces, tools and materials at the same ground potential. In addition, circuitry within this system is said to dramatically reduce operator and workstation grounding voltages. The instrument ensures that transient currents cannot exceed 10 mA. It is a microprocessor-controlled system that uses Semtronics' operator wrist band-based, patented dual-resistive-loop technology that applies a single polarity measurement technique that can accommodate up to two operators, benches and ground paths.
