Chip Offers 4-Axis Independent Control

Nov. 1, 2000

Suited for use in semiconductor manufacturing, inspection systems, medical analysis machines, scientific instruments, and biotechnical instruments, the PCL-6045 motion control chip offers 4-axis independent control in a 176-pin QFP. The chip supports linear interpolation, circular interpolation, and the option of having a combination of linear and circular interpolation.
The chip allows positioning and speed to be changed on the fly. Key features include damping oscillation control, pre-buffer for the next motion control profile, automatic correction of operating speed, backlash correction, and out-of-step detection. Maximum speed output is 6.5 Mpps.
