Video Camera Captures Images In NIR Band

June 1, 2001

Entering the market as the industry's first video camera to capture images in the near infrared (NIR) wavelength band from 900 to 1,700 nm, the MiniCamera measures just 5 x 6 x 9.5 cm, weighs under 350g without the lens, and is suitable for telecommunications and DWDM applications. The camera is completely solid-state in design, operates at ambient room temperatureS, and draws less than 1.6W of power.
Incorporating an InGaAs, 320 x 240 imager, the video camera has a detectivity rating of >5 x 1012 cm-√Hz/W with a noise floor of less than 500 equivalent photoelectrons and a true dynamic range of greater than 33 dB. Outputs for the MiniCamera include RS-170 compatible analog video and 12-bit RS-422 digital.
