The SFP1050-12BG, a 1050-W ac-dc front end that delivers a maximum of 86.7 A with a 12-V output, features a typical 91% efficiency, even at 50% loads. The device exceeds the efficiency requirements of the Climate Savers Computing Initiative’s Silver standard across output loads of 20% to 100%. The high efficiency and its active current sharing capability make the SFP1050-12BG well-suited for redundant applications in datacom, server, and other distributed power applications. The front end accepts a 90- to 264-V ac input. Its compact 1U (12.0 by 3.1 by 1.6 in.) size allows users to place five SFP1050's in a single 1U, 19-in rack for a 5250-W capability. Ten units can be mounted on their side in a 2U, 19-in. rack. Blind mate connectors allow for hot swapping in live redundant systems to permit full-time power availability. Additional features include a standby 3.3-V, 3-A output, as well as I2C monitoring and control. Protections include: output overvoltage, output overcurrent, and overtemperature. The SFP1050-12BG meets international safety requirements and is CE marked to the Low Voltage Directive. Regulatory approvals include UL 60950-1/CSA 22.2 No. 60950-1, TUV approval to EN 60950-1, and IEC 60950-1. The SFP1050-12BG costs $512 each in 250-pice quantities. POWER-ONE INC., Camarillo, CA.
