ECIA: Passive Component Sales in North America declined 3.4% in Q1 CY 2015

ECIA announces the quarterly update of the Passive Component Market Reports for Capacitors, Inductors and Non Linear Resistors for Q1 CY 2015.

ECIA announces the quarterly update of the Passive Component Market Reports for Capacitors, Inductors and Non Linear Resistors for Q1 CY 2015. The reports track sales of passive components with information provided by members via the ECIA Sales and Bookings Reports. Those reports track unit and net dollar values of components sold and booked through North American manufacturing facilities, including offshore production, private label or otherwise.

Overall sales for Q1 CY 2015 in North America declined 13.3% in units and 3.4% in dollars compared to Q4 CY 2014 and declined 0.5% in units and 2.2% in dollars compared to Q1 CY 2014. Non Linear Resistor sales showed significant increases while capacitors and inductors dipped.

Production Lead Times for capacitors are averaging 12 weeks, inductors and resistors are averaging 10 weeks.
