10-Layer Backplanes Serve cPCI Needs

A series of 10-layer backplanes for CompactPCI applications meets the PICMG CompactPCI 2.0 R 2.1 specification. The 64-bit, 3U, 6U and 7U backplanes are available with four, six or eight slots. Stiffening rails are incorporated to prevent bending when units are removed and replaced.Other features include: microstrip and strip-line design; clock signals with identical signal running time; 220-pin metric connectors for hot-swap applications; right- or left-handed controller slots; and integrated power-supply connectors. Data rates are 132 or 264 Mbytes/s. Voltage I/O can be configured for 3.3V or 5V. The backplanes include busbars for 5V, 3.3V and ground for optimum power distribution.
