Jan. 1, 2002

Addressing the demand for increased channel count on a/d converters, the AD7490 16-channel, successive-approximation (SAR) a/d converter provides a 12-bit resolution and a sampling rate up to 1 Msamples/s. The device features a sequencer that is controlled by a shadow register that allows continuous or single conversions on selected channels. The channel selection function can be altered while the sequence is in progress. Other features include three power management modes, full power dissipation of 3.6 mW and 1 µA in shutdown mode, and single 2.7 to 5.25V supply operation. Available in a 32-pin lead frame chip scale package (LFCSP), price is $6.35 each/1,000. ANALOG DEVICES INC., Wilmington, MA. (800) 262-5643.
