200 MSPS ADC Runs Cool

Aug. 1, 2001

Boasting of a low-power dissipation of 430 mW, the SPT7720 8-bit, 200 Msamples/s A/D converter provides a bandwidth of 500 MHz. The power dissipation is said to be 30% lower than comparable devices on the market. In addition, the device is pin-compatible with Analog Device's AD9054A. Available in a 44-lead TQFP and a temperature range from -40¡C to 85¡C, the low-power ADC costs $29.80 each/1,000. SIGNAL PROCESSING TECHNOLOGIES INC., Colorado Springs, CO. (800) 643-3778.
