300-MHz Differential Line Driver Slews 2700V/µs

Oct. 1, 1998

Featuring a closed-loop gain of 2V/V with fully symmetrical differential inputs and outputs, the MAX4142 differential line driver is well suited for driving back-terminated cables and transmission lines. Laser-trimmed thin-film resistors and common-mode cancellation circuits let this device deliver common-mode rejection of 70 dB at 10 MHz. Its internal current-feedback techniques achieve a bandwidth of 300 MHz and a slew rate of 2700V/µs. The driver operates from ±5V supplies and draws only 11 mA of quiescent current. Shutdown capability is 800 µA and the output stage drives a 100 ohm load to ±6V differentially or to ±3V in single-ended applications.
