Audio DAC Includes VCXO And PLL

The PCM1740 is a 24-bit, 96-kHz digital-to-analog converter with an on-chip voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) and a phase locked loop (PLL) for digital-broadcast applications. The device includes a stereo audio d/a converter that employs a multi-bit, delta-sigma architecture. This portion also includes an 8x digital-interpolation filter, third-order noise shaping, five-level amplitude quantization, and an analog low-pass filter. The device includes a number of user-programmable functions that are accessed via a standard I2C-Bus interface. The audio DAC is packaged in a 24-lead SSOP, operates on a single +5V supply, and is priced from $4.95 each/1000.
