Cables Have Low-To-Medium Capacitance

Boasting of capacitance values as low as 12.5 pF/ft., the Mid-capacitance series of multi-conductor cables is targeted for use in monitoring, signaling and detection systems, as well as in microprocessor-driven "addressable" fire alarm systems required to transmit digital information at high speeds. Mid-capacitance cables embrace a wide variety of styles, including shielded and unshielded, plenum and non-plenum versions; conductor gauges range from 12 to 18 AWG.Non-plenum Mid-capacitance cables are available in unshielded and shielded 2- and 4-conductor constructions, with capacitance ranging from 12.5 pF/ft. on the 18 AWG unshielded cable to 35.0 pF/ft. on the 12 AWG shielded cable. In plenum-rated versions, capacitance ranges from 19.5 pF/ft. on 18 AWG shielded cables to 27.0 pF/ft. on 16 AWG unshielded cables.
