Calcium Flat Plate Battery Has Long Cycle Life

Nov. 1, 1999

The DXC calcium, flat plate battery features a U-wrap separator that encircles the bottom of the positive plate leaving the sides exposed, which lengthens the cycle life of the battery by preventing build-up of sediments that can create shorts. The battery's grid design and lead-plated copper posts provide high rate performance for short duration discharges to outperform similar products by up to 9% on 15-minute discharges to 1.67 VPC. The battery has an expanded capacity of up to 5.089 kW/cell to 1.67 V/cell at the 15-minute rate. It's rated at 100% capacity at initial discharge and features multi-cell construction that requires fewer units and lowers installation costs.
