CAN Modules Offer VME And cPCI Options

April 1, 2001

Designed to give designers of industrial automation and process control systems a variety of options for VME, CompactPCI and bus-less systems, three CAN mezzanine I/O modules have been developed that support the CANopen protocol stack from Vector Informatik. The P5 is a PCoMIP mezzanine card, suited for PCI-based equipment such as PowerPC or Intel-based CompactPCI systems.
The M65 targets embedded industrial networks that require decentralized I/O. The M74 features a dual-channel architecture with two basic and extended SJA1000 CAN controllers. Single-unit prices for the P5, M65, and M74 start at $495, $531, and $387, respectively.
