Chip Helps Deliver Studio-Quality Sound For DVD Players

product pic

The CS4397 multi-standard DAC delivers the audio quality for DVD players that today requires three separate components. By reducing component count, the chip lets DVD makers meet the high-end consumer price point for quality sound. Called the SuperDAC, the crystal audio DAC delivers high-quality audio output supporting DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD (SACD) formats. SuperDAC offers both 120 dB dynamic range performance and compatibility with the 24-bit, 192 kHz sampling rate of DVD-Audio and the SACD direct stream digital technology. The SuperDAC also supports HDCD-encoded discs by allowing the use of popular external interpolation filters. Another family member, the CS4396, provides the same high performance as the CS4397 but without support for DSD or HDCD. The two devices provide their own migration path for product upgrades.
