Coax Failsafe Switch Operates Up To 18 GHz

Nov. 1, 1999

The 601 Series of miniature Magnetic Coaxial Failsafe switches operates from dc to 18 GHz with a VSWR of 1.50:1 maximum. Insertion loss is 0.5 dB maximum and isolation is 60 dB minimum. Power handling is 100W CW at 3 GHz. The switches mate with SMA female type connectors; operating voltage is 12 and 28 vdc; and switching time is 20 ms. The switches can be used to alter the path of an incoming signal to either of the two outputs or can select either of the two inputs for an output. Applications are test equipment, switch matrices, microwave radios, and selection of alternating antennas that are connected to a transmitter or receiver.
